Monday, October 3, 2011 is National Child Health Day. This year’s theme is Helping Children Lead Healthy Lives. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has created a website for National Health Day. The following is a message about National Child Health Day from Jon L. Nelson, Acting Associate Administrator for Maternal and Child Health:
I wanted to let you know that next Monday, October 3, 2011 is National Child Health Day. This year’s theme is Helping Children Lead Healthy Lives. A HRSA website was created at to feature important resources that assist families in finding health care services. Resources featured on the website include the 311 Prenatal Hotline, Insure Kids Now, Family-to-Family Health Information Centers, Text 4 Baby, Find a Health Center Locator and the Maternal and Child Health Program.
On National Child Health Day, we will feature the services within MCHB and HRSA that serve the health and well-being of children. And for that reason, I would encourage you to share the website with your grantees. Upon visiting the website, grantees can download the Child Health Day Badge. The badge gives grantees the ability to link to the website. It is our hope that we can reach thousands of families to assist them in finding vital health care services. Thank you for helping us get the word out about this day and the resources available to our children.
On this 83rd annual celebration of Child Health Day, HRSA reminds you of maternal and child health programs that help children lead healthy lives everyday.
