Interested in being better prepared in the event of a catastrophic disaster?
The Kent County Coalition of Delaware is hosting a free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training on Friday, July 13, 2012 and Saturday, July 14, 2012 in Dover, Delaware.
The CERT training is designed to prepare you to help yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the event of a catastrophic disaster. In catastrophic events, emergency services personnel may not be able to immediately help everyone. Learn how you can make a difference by using the training you receive to save lives and protect property.
During the two day training course, you will be partnered with other community members in both classroom and practical hands-on applications of fire safety and suppression, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.
CERT is a National Program. Participants who complete the course will be given a certificate signed by the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) Director and Program Manager. They will also receive a CERT Kit with helmet, vest and other emergency supplies.
