Spring is here! Mother Nature is hard at work transforming our landscape into colorful palettes of spring flowers and green grass. It’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy Delaware’s great state park system. It’s also the time to pick up your 2013 Annual Park Pass, which provides access to the Delaware State Parks.
Did you know that the Delaware State Parks offers reduced fee State Parks Annual passes to qualifying Delaware residents through the Annual Pass Assistance Program and the Delaware Military Pass? It’s a great opportunity to gain access to these beautiful parks. Learn how you might qualify for one of these two reduced fee park passes.
The Annual Pass Assistance Program
If you are a Delaware resident and currently receiving assistance from a State Service Center, you may be eligible to purchase a Delaware State Parks annual pass for only $10 through the Delaware State Parks Annual Pass Assistance Program.
This state parks pass will allow the vehicle it is attached to, and up to six occupants of that vehicle, unlimited entries to Delaware State Parks during the fee season.
Who is Eligible For the Pass Assistance Program?
Individuals and families receiving any of the following types of assistance are eligible for the $10 Delaware State Parks Annual Pass.
- Public Assistance
- General Assistance
- Medicaid
- Social Security Income
- Food Stamps
- WIC
- Child Care Assistance Program.
How To Get A Reduced Fee Delaware State Parks Pass
Contact your State Services Center to receive a mail-in envelope with an eligibility stamp. Then take the envelope to any park office or mail it in with the $10 payment. Have additional questions? Contact The Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation at (302) 739-9220.

The Delaware Military Pass
Do you live in Delaware and is currently serving or have served our country in the military? You probably qualify for a reduced fee Delaware State Parks Military Pass. Delaware residents with military service in one of the following manners can request the Military Pass:
- An active-duty military member serving honorably in the Armed Forces of the United States or in the Delaware National Guard
- A military veteran who was honorably discharged
- A military retiree who served honorably for 20 or more years

Get Outside This Summer!
If you or someone you know receives Delaware assistance or qualifies for the Delaware Military pass, be sure to take this opportunity and get a reduced fee state parks pass. Then get out and enjoy the parks this spring and summer. There’s so much to do! State park activities range from hiking and biking, to nature camps, summer camps and summer concerts, to fishing and overnight camping. Search your local Delaware state park for activities that you and your family might enjoy.
Do you already hold an American The Beautiful Pass? Bring it with you to the State Park you want to visit. Delaware residents who hold an America the Beautiful Access Pass are exempt from seasonal or daily entrance fees to Delaware State Parks. You will also receive a 20% discount off camping rates at the State Parks.
The Delaware State Parks wants everyone to enjoy it’s beautiful parks system. So come on out and enjoy them.
